Speaker: Nigel Biggar
Topic: The Morality of Empire and the War on Woke
Venue: Vinson Lecture Theatre
Time: 12:00-13:00 Sunday 17 September
Talk Summary:
At a time when the British Empire is viewed by many historians in an entirely negative light, the distinguished moral philosopher and theologian Nigel Biggar argues that we should not lose sight of the more positive aspects of imperialism.

Nigel Biggar is an Anglican priest, theologian and ethicist, and was Regius Professor of Moral and Pastoral Theology at the University of Oxford. His latest book is Colonialism: a Moral Reckoning (Harper Collins), which offers an ethical inquest into the colonial past, contesting damaging falsehoods and rejuvenating faith in the West’s future.
